Hahn Air Base Guestbook

I was born on base in 1971! My father was stationed here and I lived my first three years here until he was transferred. I have only a few memories of Germany but I had to smile when I read about one of your first experiences being frightened by the sound of the jets. My own mother told me the same thing happened to me. I would love to come back with my family and see where I was born and the town I lived in. Lena and Peter were our landlords, but they were older even then so I'm sure no longer with us. But I'd love to find the house.
Love your site. Thank you.

The Dolly Bar was my place! I was stationed at Hahn from 1988-1993. Frau Caspari ran a tab for me, I lived across the street, Ilona was a good friend of mine, and I ended up marrying a British gal who went there named Faith. Some GREAT memories.

Was reading what Marc Muller wrote about Hahn as a child... I was there from 1967 to 1970. Never went home for 3 years , I lived off base in Starkenburg .. it’s very sad to all of us who served there, it was a part of our lives, as the people who were around us

50th Security Police. Spent a lot of nights drinking beer and playing pool, darts, nails or liars dice at the Dolly Bar. Met my wife there and started my family there. So many great memories of the best assignment of my AF career...miss all my friends made at Hahn, both my fellow airmen as well as many locals...some of whom are no longer with us. I will never forget my time at Hahn!

I was a 9 year old kid when we moved to Blankenrath, Germany near Hahn Air Force Base where my Dad was stationed. We lived on the economy for a year and then got an apartment on base. I think we had apartment B-1-A. I enjoyed the sub-teen club, the Boy Scout Troop under the direction of Sgt. Dusette, and all my friends at school.
Was anyone else a kid there during the years from 1957 to 1960?
I went back to Germany as a tourist a couple of years ago. Sad to see how many of the buildings were dilapidated in the housing area....but wife and I crawled through a hole in the 6 foot fence and actually got into our apartment. It was empty with the counters, etc torn out and left on the floor. The building was still salvageable if anyone wanted to make the effort.
Fun to think back and wonder what happened to my friends.

I was a kid in West Germany three times for 12 years. The first and third years were in a town called Hoenecken near K-town. The middle tour was at Hahn AFB from '76-'84 which were my 5th-12th grades. After 10th and 11th grades I worked on base with AGS and ROADS AND GROUNDS In '89 I moved to Tampa, Florida.
